Responding to the Comments: Battlefield 3 Review
Yesterday, we had posted a review for Battlefield 3. Being one of the biggest games of the year, a lot of people had a lot of comments. Some good, some bad. This article will highlight some of the best, funniest, angriest and just plain weird comments we received about the review, which can be read here.

I wouldn’t trust reviews on BF3 after the memo EA sent out to reviewers got leaked… Here is an excerpt of it.
This is the questionnaire that was emailed to reviewers:
- Did the reviewer personally review BFBC2 or Black Ops?
- What score did he give it?
- What is his past experience with Battlefield?
- Is he a fan of Battlefield?
- Is he a fan of Call of Duty?
- Has he been playing BF Franchise? BFBC2? 1943? BF2?
- Has he expressed enthusiasm or concern for BF3? What are they?
- Did he play the beta? Did he enjoy it / get frustrated with it?
- What is his present view on the game?
READ THE REST AT THIS LINK!
Personally, i dont deny BF3 being a great game, this issue isnt related to the game itself, but how corrupt this video game industry is getting
My Response:
Wow, that is quite the long questionnaire! But it does make sense to give a reviewer a game they will like because every single person has different likes, EA just reall wanted to be thorough.

Regardless of what review score this game gets, I will be playing this on Day 1. I played Caspian Border on the beta and I absolutely fell in love with the game.
Trust me, battlefield vets and others are in for a real treat when this is out. All that arduous waiting is soon going to be over. This is a true successor to Battlefield 2 and this is the opinion of a guy who is currently sitting in the toilet heavily constipated.
My Response:
Wow, too much information.

Does anyone actually believe that this review is legit? Sure, I think it will get high scores, but no way in hell does some obscure site like this have its hands on the game yet…
Seriously, that entire review could be BS’d just by having played other BF games, and reading existing descriptions and videos of the game.
I’m looking forward to BF3, but I’m calling this out.
Fake review is fake.

lol are you saying the reviewer’s opinion is fake? I don’t really understand what you by “fake review” how can a review be fake? I can go make a review about something I’ve experienced…. would that be fake?!
My Response:
Uncharted 3 had a review up from a Spanish Magazine one month before the actual launch. Copies find their way out into the public long before launch. Pretty much every single Halo game has leaked a month early.

Really 9.5 is good…But the fact is that I am tired of the way games are currently reviewed because I guarantee most people will look at the score without reading the review. It has become too nitpicky by gamers about .5 differences in scores. Personally I miss the Ign .1 review scale. scores like a 7 is considered a bad game and 1-5 is rarely ever used. But that is a score rant. Congrats on the great score by battlefield and I look forward to READING more reviews
My Response:
Great way to put it.

F*cking Kidding Me?
Nothing groundbreaking? ARE U F&CKING KIDDING ME? this game is completly changing the face of Multiplayer Shooter, scope glare(a feature never seen before that FINALY balance the sniper class and got rid of campers), bipods, completly interactive and destructible maps, every kind of vehicle u can imagine, IF THIS ISNT REVOLUTIONARY, WTH IS ? CoD Money Wasted 3th time? please, if ure going to make a review, at least do it right -.-

scope glare was in Far Cry Multiplayer. But nobody played that lol

Scope glare is also in Gears of War 3. Finally noticed it when some douche thought he could snipe me.

Scope glare has been done, bipods have been done, vehicles have been done.
The game isn’t groundbreaking, that doesn’t mean it’s not a good game. Stop the fanboy rage.
My Response:
First person shooters just aren’t ground breaking or innovative anymore. They all follow the same formula with certain tweaks thrown in. Hopefully Valve gets us Half-Life 3 soon because that has the best chance of breaking some new ground.

I love how everyone has a problem with the reviewer saying that it “is not groundbreaking”. Games can be really well done and receive high scores and not be groundbreaking. If you play first person shooters then you should know that most are similar. It is hard to play a “groundbreaking” first person shooter because all FPS games have their drawbacks. The games are never as “OMFG AMAZING JESSSSUSSSS” as dev’s put it out to be.Thanks for the review and sorry you have to deal with dumbasses.
My Response:
Thankyou for the awesome comment.

Well I was just surfing about to see if anyone had reviewed, or even commented on, the console versions of this game.
I’ve been playing BF:BC2 forever on Xbox, and I was REALLY disappointed by the Beta for BF3.
As I understand it, ‘freelance’ writers can discuss the game right now, but ‘staff writers’ can’t?
Uh, okay- I was happy to see this, then…..thank goodness for freelancers, huh?
I’m not gonna rage about the ‘groundbreaking’ thing….I’ve seen a million Mafia movies, but there’s always room for another classic.
Even friggin’ Avril Lavigne knew enough to say , ‘Lay back, it’s all been done before.’
And she was like, what, eleventeen at the time?
The most important thing to have read here was that the final version was in better shape than the Beta, cuz that friggin’ thing was a mess on Xbox Live.
I imagine there will be a patch upon release, but hopefully I’ll have a polished product afterwards…..
Already took the day off, and I’ll be gettin’ up in the AM to go get my copy…so this review allayed my fears a bit (I DID mention the Beta was awful, right?).
Thanks for that!
My Response:
Good comment but the Avril Lavigne name-drop kinda came out of nowhere.

Wow that was vague. I could come up with something like this without playing any game.
‘Skyrim is a wonderful game with fantastic visuals but nothing ground breaking. One could get lost into hours of content from killing varied enemies to exploring new areas.’
Final Verdict: 9.4/10
Pros: Huge Landscapes, varied enemies, dragons, great soundtrack, etc, etc
Cons: Nothing groundbreaking.
Can I get bubbles for ‘First review of Skyrim’?
My Response:
Oddly enough, that is exactly how most Skyrim reviews will go. That is how every Oblivion review went too…
So, some people liked the review, some people hated it and some people thought it was a fake. If you still think it was a fake, check out the original post about the install size of the Xbox 360, with pictures, here.
