Game of the Month Awards: October, 2011
October was definitely a big month for video games and we saw a perfect ten for a great, yet sadistic action game. A near perfect score for a superhero game set in a prisoner run city. So, which game takes the award for October Game of the Month?
*Note: Game of the Month cannot win any other categories.
3DS Game of the Month:
Pokemon Rumble Blast
October was a slow month for 3DS gamers but if you like Pokemon, you will love this game.
DS Game of the Month:
Professor Layton and the Last Specter
Much like the 3DS, the DS didn’t have a very strong showing this month. Luckily, we were treated to the next installment in the Layton series.
Wii Game of the Month:
Kirby’s Return to Dreamland
If you are looking for a great single player experience and an okay multiplayer experience, pick up Return to Dreamland and watch as Kirby kicks butt!
PS3/ Xbox 360 Game of the Month
Batman: Arkham City
Arkham City is the runner-up for Game of the Month but it is still an amazing game. If you have yet to play it, you are missing one of the greatest fan services a video game has ever produced.
Game of the Month
Dark Souls
Dark Souls was the only game to receive a perfect score this month and deservedly so. Even though it is extremely difficult, it is a beautiful and satisfying journey throughout. While it is likely to be overlooked when the Game of the Year awards are handed out, it more than earned our October Game of the Month.
Check back throughout the month to read our reviews of all the latest games with the November Game of the Month awards handed out on December 1st.
