4 May 2012 Games That Have Us Worried, But Will Likely Impress

Like we said in our 8 Games To Look Forward To In May 2012 post, May is filled with great games to look forward to, but there is reason to worry. Some of those big games coming out next month have us worried for various reasons and while we hope that all of them impress us in the end, right now we are a little cautious.

Fable: Heroes (XBLA) – May 2nd

The first of two Fable games this year, Fable: Heroes aims to give the franchise a downloadable co-op hack and slash entry, in the same vein as Castle Crashers. We expect it to be a fun game to play with friends, but tagging the Fable name on this title will likely have a lot of people looking forward to a highly detailed and in-depth experience, which we aren’t likely to receive with such a cartoony looking game.

Game of Thrones RPG (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) – May 15th

As good as the show is, we just don’t think that the game has had enough time in development. Unless they started production before the show even premiered, it could impress and become interesting an adventure game that gives fans of the show more insight into the world of Game of Thrones. If they didn’t have enought time though, we expect a buggy experience with lacklustre gameplay.

Sonic 4: Episode 2 (XBLA, PSN) – May 16th

The amount of anticipation for Episode 1 was insane. Gamers around the world couldn’t wait to get their hands on an old-school Sonic game one more time, then it came out. While it wasn’t terrible, the homing device made the game way too easy and the level design was somewhat un-inspired. As long as Sega can fix the issues with the sequel, we’ll have a game that restores our faith in 2D Sonic games.

Ghost Recon: Future Soldier (PS3, PC, Xbox 360) – May 22nd

Before playing the beta, this game was going to be on our games to look forward to in May 2012, but after playing the beta, that has changed. The amount of lag, dropped games, and wrongful deaths we have experienced is too much for a game coming out in a month. If Ubisoft does manage to fix all of these issues by launch though, Ghost Recon: Future Soldier will be an amazing third-person shooter, but right now, we are worried.
