5 August 2012 Games You Need To Play

Yesterday, we posted all of the currently scheduled August 2012 New Release Video Games and today, we’ll highlight five of them that you simply need to play.

Sound Shapes – August 7th (PS3, PSV)

For many people, Sound Shapes was one of the most appealing titles when it was first announced for the PlayStation Vita. Well, Queasy Games is now bringing Sound Shapes to both the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, meaning that more people can experience the musical based platformer which will feature three songs from Beck.

Darksiders 2 – August 14th (PS3, Xbox 360, PC)

Switching things up in the sequel, you’ll be playing as Death in Darksiders 2, rather than War. The Zelda/God of War gameplay and collecting featured in the original will be back this time around and if this version is anything like the first Darksiders, it will be a very pleasant surprise that spawns a sequel. And who knows, maybe we’ll play as Pestilence in Darksiders 3

Deadlight – August 1st (XBLA)

The biggest draw in the 2012 Summer of Arcade, Deadlight brings the same 2D atmospheric gameplay seen in past downloadable titles such as Limbo and Shadow Complex. If this delivers everything that it should, look for Deadlight to be one of the best games on the Xbox Live Arcade the entire year.

Transformers: Fall of Cybertron – August 21st (PS3, Xbox 360)

Continuing the story in War For Cybertron, Fall of Cybertron will once again see the Autobots fighting against the Decepticons on Cybertron in fast paced third-person shooting action. Also, Dinosaurs.

The Last Story – August 14th (Wii)

We said that The Last Story would be included in this list if it was pushed back to August and we’re keeping our word. Though numerous other games like Sleeping Dogs, Papo and Yo, Hybrid, Dust: An Elysian Tail, Counter-Strike: Global OffensiveGuild Wars 2, and New Super Mario Bros. 2 deserve your money and attention next month, The Last Story will be the last good game that North American Wii owners will be able to play before the Wii U launches later this year.

usrev2, both Darksiders and Transformers will be well worth the 60 dollar pricetag. Screw off.

    ummmm Guild Wars 2???? Hello?

  • usrev2

nah. none of those look like must buys, at least at the starting price.
maybe early 2013 when they are all 80% off they will be worth the price.. the xboxlive titles will remain starting price though, so will avoid those.
