15 Games You Have To Play In September 2012
September 2012 (click this link for the full lineup of releases) isn’t nearly as busy as October or November in terms of big releases, but it does a very good job of continuing the busy release season started at the end of August. With that said, here are 15 games you have to play next month.
Borderlands 2 (PS3, Xbox 360, PC) – September 18th
Easily the biggest game of the month, Borderlands 2 takes the open-world formula established in the first game to brand new heights. The amount of guns you can collect is absurd, the main campaign will take about 50 hours to complete, and it just looks like an overall thrill ride from start to finish. If this game isn’t on your radar yet, it should be now.
NHL 13 (PS3, Xbox 360) – September 11th/Fifa 13 (PS3, Xbox 360, PS Vita, Wii, 3DS, PC) – September 25th
Just like they’ve done in previous years, both of these new entries into EA’s yearly franchises look to impress. Though the NHL games regularly win ‘Sports Game of the Year’, Fifa 13 has added a lot of new features and refined the formula, making the race for Sports GOTY a much tighter one this year.
Tekken Tag Tournament 2 (PS3, Xbox 360) – September 11th/ Dead Or Alive 5 (PS3, Xbox 360) – September 25th
The fighting genre has definitely been a crowded one in recent years and this month is no exception, with a duo of very worthwhile games coming out. Both Tekken Tag Tournament 2 and Dead Or Alive 5 will bring back the intense fighting seen in the previous iterations of each series and add a whole bunch of new features.
Indie Games Uprising 3 (XBLIG) – September 10th – 20th
The Indie Games Uprising 3 will start on September 10th in the Xbox Live Indie Section and you will find a bunch of indie titles that all look to impress. For a total of just 720 MSP (under $10), you can pick up qrth-phyl, Sententia, Diehard Dungeon, Gateways, Smooth Operators, Entropy, City Tuesday, XenoMiner, and Pixel. Check out this video to get more acquainted with each title.
LittleBigPlanet Vita (PS Vita) – September 25th
It’s been slow on the retail front lately for PlayStation Vita games, but at the end of the month, LittleBigPlanet Vita will be released. It will bring with it the gameplay and creativity established in past LittleBigPlanet games on the PS3 and PSP, mixing in all of the unique features that the PlayStation Vita brings to the table.
Though we only highlighted a select few games coming out next month, other titles like Pid, Mark of the Ninja, Double Dragon: Neon, Jet Set Radio, Family Guy: Back To The Multiverse, Hell Yeah!, and World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria all deserve your attention.
