5 Games You Have To Play In December 2012

With December not being nearly as jam-packed as October or November, we’ll only be doing one all-encompassing list of games you need to play this month. Check out the five games below and don’t forget to check out our December 2012 video game release page to see everything coming out this month.

Far Cry 3 (PS3, PC, Xbox 360) – December 4th

We’re hard at work on our review of Far Cry 3, but what I can tell you is that this game is amazing and something you need to be picking up on December 4th. To quote Adam’s early impressions, “It’s a brutally immersive storytelling experience. It’s like a tropical snake in all the right ways: beautiful to look at and incredibly deadly.” Check out his full review here.

Guardians of Middle-Earth (PS3, PSN, Xbox 360, XBLA) – December 4th

Continuing the Lord of the Rings licensed game parade leading up to The Hobbit’s release in theatres, Guardians of Middle-Earth places you in a multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). Choosing from various characters from the Lord of the Rings franchise, this game looks to give you a very satisfying Middle Earth experience.

Mass Effect 1 (PSN)/ Mass Effect Trilogy (PS3) – December 4th

Marking the first time that the original Mass Effect wil be available for the PlayStation 3, December 4th will be a great day. For anyone who has held off on picking up the Mass Effect games on PS3, the trilogy is a no-brainer to pick up, whereas those who have played 2 and 3 can pick up the first one for $15 on the PSN.

The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series (PS3, PC, Xbox 360) – December 11th

Bundling together all five of the downloadable episodes onto 1 disc, The Walking Dead: A Telltale Games Series gives you an amazing story-based experience that will end up as a serious Game of the Year contender. If you somehow missed out on this, you owe it to yourself to spend the $30 and pick this up.

Hawken (PC) – December 12th

This PC-only free to play title will be entering open beta on December 12th and you have to check it out. Jumping into a mech and blasting away other mechs, Hawken will offer an intense multiplayer experience that will make fans of Call of Duty feel at home. Whether or not you have heard of Hawken before today, it’s free to play, so set aside some playing time on December 12th for the game.
